My approach to therapy is: collaborative, curious, (psycho)educational, holistic, individualized, interactive, reciprocal, trauma informed catering to your own unique needs. I have experience working with different peoples: school-age children, at risk youth, justice involved, in crisis inpatient and substance misuse recovery programs, and in tech companies.
I am primarily trained in health psychology, working with those hoping to harmonize their body and mind and benefit from alternative and integrative initiatives. I am comfortable treating issues of dual realities: behaviors; bipolar disorder; death; hyphenated/intersectional identities; inter/multi-generational traumas; relationships (children/parents, couples, blended families, siblings); life transitions and personal journeys of assimilation, breakup, borders crossing, conversion, displacement, divorce, migration, sobriety, and transitioning – all great examples of the incredible power of human transformation.
I use Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) and culturally adapted CBT (CA-CBT) to help clients identify the relationship between their behaviors, thoughts, and feelings in order to alleviate mental and emotional discomfort, improve all areas in life, hence leading to a more awake life full of abundance and acceptance. I have particular interest in family therapy and somatic experiencing and use them interactively and integratively in my sessions.
